SSS at Gardens By The Bay

From 20 Jul to 18 Aug 2024, I participated in the Sculpture Society of Singapore’s annual show.  This year the event was held at the Gardens by the Bay and the theme was Made in Singapore.  39 artists took part in the month long exhibition and the event was officiated by the Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and 2nd Minister of Lay, Edwin Tong.

My submission for this year is entitled Paradox of Progress shines a light on the ups and downs arising from the rapid growth of a nation.  As society advances technologically and economically, it also faces new challenges and dilemmas that arise as a result of that progress and change. This paradox highlights the notion that while advancements bring benefits, they also come with unintended consequences and new problems that need to be addressed. It underscores the complex relationship between progress and its implications for society.
