Tougei 2022

The highlight of exhibitions for this year was the Tougei 2022 which featured 19 artists from Ceramics House including Master Potter Mr Lim Kim Hui and his wife Ms Shee Bee Heo.  The event was held from 9 to 13 September 2022 at the Aliwal Arts Centre in Singapore.  

The participating artists in Tougei 2022 included: Lim Kim Hui, Shee Bee Heo, Kim Joo Goh, John Leong, Keneth Tan, Aparna Guruprasad, Bernice Lim, Rebecca Lui, Cheyenne Yu, Mok Yee Hui, Chan Hong Yaw, Tan Mei Ying, Dora Lee, Wong Sindy, Jow Lee Ying, Hairol Md Hossain, Lam Hui Zhen, Vivien Chan and Christine Fan. 

I am truly grateful for Mr Lim for his guidance and tutelage.  Being part of Ceramic House has enabled me to expand my knowledge of pottery and ceramic art. 

I was also privileged to receive some feedback on my work from Master Potter Dr Iskandar Jalil during the exhibition.

The theme of the event was Ignis, which means “fire” in Latin, reflects the passion of the 19 artists for pottery and in particular pottery fired with gas which under goes the reduction process.
