In April 2023 I was privileged to have the opportunity to travel to Tokoname in Japan to take part in a residency where we created and wood fired our works at the studio of Peter Seabridge. The glossy marking on this Chawan are natural glaze left by the ashes of the wood which landed on the surface of the Chawan during the firing process.
